Scope of Position

The Communications and Education Coordinator role serves as the sector’s overall administrative support by; coordinating meetings and webinar logistics, posting to social media and website as needed, coordinating materials for conferences, and serving as a liaison for external stakeholder requests.

Key Responsibilities

  • Primary point of contact for internal staff initiating work within the department or checking the status of tasks already in progress.
  • Assists with daily operation of the communications group, ensuring smooth and efficient workflow.
  • Hands-on involvement in a variety of communications logistics, including event planning, through booth scheduling and shipping, collateral coordination, and ordering materials as needed.
  • Acts as event liaison between event requesters and CNPS staff. Plans events in collaboration with the Director, Communications and oversees event scheduling.
  • Responds to requests from members and stakeholders for information and communication materials to use in their journals and newsletters or nursing courses.
  • Responsible for inventory of in-house promotional items and related materials.
  • Coordinates and lays-out newsletters and other communications pieces to support the Communications Strategist, ensuring that content adheres to corporate branding guidelines at all times.
  • Coordinates end-to-end webinar execution.
  • Posts approved content to the website as required. Recommends edits to web pages as needed. Works with IT on any technical website needs.
  • Maintains internal communications via SharePoint sites.
  • Supports the Communications Specialist in developing social media strategy and content.
  • Coordinates materials for conferences and mailers.

  • Experience coordinating webinars (asset)

Requirements

  • Completed certificate or degree preferably in communications, public relations or writing.
  • 2 -3 years related work experience or combination of relevant education and work experience.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Fluently bilingual in both official languages (written and oral)
  • Experience working with SharePoint and managing internal SharePoint sites
  • Experience working with Adobe Creative Suite, specifically InDesign, Premiere Pro and Photoshop
