“Since 1988, the CNPS has been proud to support Canadian nurses by offering legal advice, risk management education and legal assistance,” said CNPS CEO Chantal Léonard. “Nurses of all professional designations play a key role in preserving the health of Canadians and we are very pleased to welcome Manitoba LPNs as the first designated beneficiary group of licensed practical nurses to join the over 150,000 CNPS beneficiaries across Canada.”
Beginning today, all licensed practical nurses in Manitoba have become CNPS beneficiaries and as such, are generally eligible for the professional liability programs and services offered through the CNPS, such as legal advice, risk-management services, legal assistance, and professional liability protection. Registered nurses and nurse practitioners in Manitoba have been CNPS beneficiaries since its founding in 1988, and Manitoba’s registered psychiatric nurses have been CNPS beneficiaries since January 1, 2020.
