How will the CRNNL know I have complied with the professional liability protection requirement?

Your successful registration will be confirmed automatically with the CRNNL as part of your CRNNL registration renewal application process. Further instructions will be available on the CRNNL renewal portal.

*PLEASE NOTE: CNPS Professional Liability Protection is not available for automatic renewal. Your CNPS Professional Liability Protection must be renewed each year on the MyCNPS portal.

Why are the Supplementary Protection program dates and fees different?

The renewal date for the Supplementary Protection program has been adjusted to align nationally with other beneficiaries, going from today to December 31, 2025. This program also now features automatic renewal to avoid a gap in protection.

Before you start, please have on hand:

1. If you are renewing, the email address you used to register for CNPS PLP in 2022 (your 2022-2023 CNPS receipt would have been sent to that email address).

2. Your CRNA permit number (found in the top-right corner of College Connect when you are logged in).

3. If you are a member of the Alberta Association of Nurses (AAN), your AAN membership number. If you would like to receive the CNPS group rate, please visit www.albertanursing.ca and join/renew before beginning your CNPS registration.
