NANB Members: Frequently Asked Questions
Paying for your NANB and CNPS Professional Liability Protection (PLP) and Core Services fees is a bit different this year. Previously, you paid your NANB membership fees and CNPS PLP fees together in one payment during renewal. NANB then forwarded the CNPS PLP fee to the CNPS on your behalf.
Starting this year, you need to pay the CNPS PLP fee directly to the CNPS, through the online MyCNPS registration portal. *It is recommended to obtain CNPS PLP and Core Services first, before proceeding to the NANB registration/renewal process.
The total amount of fees you pay each year has not changed – there is no additional cost. You can review the CNPS PLP and Core Services fees here.

NANB members need to create MyCNPS credentials to proceed with registration or renewal for the 2025/26 licensure year. With a MyCNPS account, you will have easy access to your CNPS registrations, eligibility details, and receipts. You need to activate your MyCNPS account to register for professional liability protection.
To get started, please visit our Join or Renew page and click on New Brunswick, or visit the MyCNPS platform here.
The NANB will receive confirmation of your registration for professional liability protection directly from the CNPS. No further action is required on your part.
Login to the MyCNPS portal. In the top tool bar, you will see a tab for Language. Click on the tab and use the drop-down box to select your preferred user language (either English or French), then save your change.
The Supplementary Protection program is an optional service that is made available by the CNPS to CNPS beneficiaries on a discretionary basis for an additional fee. The CNPS Supplementary Protection program was created to provide an affordable source of legal assistance with complaints regarding your professional conduct from your nursing regulator (College or association). Please note that this protection is not included within CNPS Core Services, and that nurses must apply for registration in the Supplementary Protection program prior to an adverse incident. Learn more about the Supplementary Protection program and the conditions of eligibility here.
No. Unlike CNPS Professional Liability Protection, having access to legal assistance with College complaints is not a legislated requirement.
