NOTICE: Events and Speaking Engagements

Please note that the CNPS requires 90-day advance notice for all presentation requests, and that groups must include a minimum of 40 participants. We are currently booking into June 2025. Please complete the following event request form, and we will respond to you as soon as possible.

Live Presentations

When the request for a commitment to speak live comes from the nurses, CNPS will generally cover the costs incurred for a lawyer from CNPS to attend the event. The reservation of the place and all associated costs are the responsibility of the applicant.

When planning a live engagement, the applicant must generally commit to a minimum of 50 CNPS participants. CNPS retains the discretion to consider extenuating circumstances and may agree to make a live presentation to less than 50 beneficiary participants.

When the request for a live presentation comes from a health facility, including a health region, the requester will generally assume the costs incurred for the presentation.

The deadline for confirmation is 3 weeks before the date of presentation if air transportation is required by the CNPS and 2 weeks before the date if other forms of travel are used. If the speaking engagement is canceled by the requester, CNPS may impose cancellation fees to recover its incurred expenses.

Webinars or teleconferences

The cost of CNPS webcasts and conference calls is generally borne by CNPS if webinars or teleconferencing is done using products and services owned or licensed by CNPS. If an applicant wishes to use their own products and services for webcasting or teleconferencing and there is a cost associated with this, the applicant will generally assume the cost.

Before you start, please have on hand:

1. If you are renewing, the email address you used to register for CNPS PLP in 2022 (your 2022-2023 CNPS receipt would have been sent to that email address).

2. Your CRNA permit number (found in the top-right corner of College Connect when you are logged in).

3. If you are a member of the Alberta Association of Nurses (AAN), your AAN membership number. If you would like to receive the CNPS group rate, please visit www.albertanursing.ca and join/renew before beginning your CNPS registration.

By clicking on this link and completing my registration, I understand that if I decide to join the AAN later on, the CNPS is unable to refund my individual rate registration.
