CNNB Members: Frequently Asked Questions
Please note: The NANB has changed its name as of February 2026 and is now the College of Nursing of New Brunswick (CNNB).
Again this year, you need to pay the CNPS PLP and other Core Services fee directly to the CNPS, through the online MyCNPS registration portal. *It is recommended to obtain CNPS PLP and other Core Services first, before proceeding to the CNNB registration/renewal process.
The total amount of fees you pay each year has not changed – there is no additional cost. You can review the CNPS PLP and other Core Services fees here.

CNNB members need to login to their MyCNPS account to proceed with registration or renewal for the 2026/27 licensure year. *If you haven’t previously registered for CNPS PLP and other Core Services, please create a MyCNPS account to get started. Please use the same email address associated with your CNNB registration.
Please visit our Join or Renew page and click on New Brunswick, or visit the MyCNPS platform here to get started.
The CNNB will receive confirmation of your registration for professional liability protection directly from the CNPS.
But to proactively confirm your registration for CNPS PLP with the College, log into your CNNB Account, visit the Canadian Nurses Protective Society section and click on the ‘Verify’ button. (If the verification is unsuccessful, you will need to provide your CNPS receipt to CNNB directly, so that they can further assist you.)
Login to the MyCNPS portal. In the top tool bar, you will see a tab for Language. Click on the tab and use the drop-down box to select your preferred user language (either English or French), then save your change.
The Supplementary Protection program is an optional service that is made available by the CNPS to CNPS beneficiaries on a discretionary basis for an additional fee. The CNPS Supplementary Protection program was created to provide an affordable source of legal assistance with complaints regarding your professional conduct from your nursing regulator (College or association). Please note that this protection is not included within CNPS Core Services, and that nurses must apply for registration in the Supplementary Protection program prior to an adverse incident. Learn more about the Supplementary Protection program and the conditions of eligibility here.
No. Unlike CNPS Professional Liability Protection, having access to legal assistance with College complaints is not a legislated requirement.
