Information for nurses regarding an official receipt for CNPS fees

Canadian Nurses Protective Society > Services > Information for nurses regarding an official receipt for CNPS fees

From time to time, nurses may need a receipt to confirm the amount paid for CNPS fees. As a beneficiary, you can access your receipt from the CNPS if you paid directly, or by contacting the CNPS member organization listed below, depending on your province or territory.

How do I receive a receipt through the MyCNPS portal?

If you registered and paid for your Professional Liability Protection and/or registered for the Supplementary Protection Program directly with CNPS, you can verify your protection status and access your receipt(s) by signing in to the MyCNPS portal.

You will be asked to enter your username and your password. Your username is the email address that the CNPS has on record. If you do not have a password, you can reset it by clicking on “Request new password.” You can also contact the CNPS toll-free at 1-800-267-3390 to help identify your email address on record with CNPS or if you require assistance.

Can I claim CNPS fees on my tax return?

Nurses should contact the Canada Revenue Agency directly (or verify with their accountant) to confirm whether they are entitled to claim CNPS fees to reduce the amount of tax owing.

Before you start, please have on hand:

1. If you are renewing, the email address you used to register for CNPS PLP in 2022 (your 2022-2023 CNPS receipt would have been sent to that email address).

2. Your CRNA permit number (found in the top-right corner of College Connect when you are logged in).
